Heart of the Sea

This Moby Dick movie set in the olden times, in whaling ports of old England, where men were still noble and adventurous, did not receive many positive reviews but it is still worth a peep. Two questions in my mind which begged to be answered, upon settling on my seat was: "How big is this creature? And how did the men overcome the onslaught?" Truly and dutifully the movie took us on its paces and finally revealed the beast of the ocean in its full splendour, crashing through the waves several times. It even zoomed in close to its human-like eyes, as the heroic sailor was about to plunge the harpoon onto its hide, but later decided not to to show the respect and relationship between frieds and foe. They wouldn't stand a fighting chance anyway, as the fish was on a mission to kill and end the deep sea hunters of their profitable whale oil business. Due to the laidback nature of the characters and the times they belong, the film is not your usual hi-energy Hollywood blockbuster flick, but one with a good yarn to tell. In fact, the whole film is about an aged survivor recounting his real life experience, during the whaling expedition which ended up in tragedy. The movie has some pretty good quotes, worth memorizing. If you are doing nothing on a lazy afternoon, and if you have nothing better else to see, then watch this movie, which was the perfect situation I found myself in yesterday. Now that we know how really big Moby Dick is, we can go back to our usual lives an pretend it didn't happen.
