Battleship 2012

Saw this cool monster alien movie at GSC Tropicana Mall the other day. It's been awhile since there was a good action movie that takes you by surprise, and this flick fits the bill, created the the producers of Transformer who dares to be larger than life.  Must watch, especially since someone commented that it is the best movie of 2012, so far. What makes this movie interesting is the mystery surrounding this alien ship, as nobody knows what it was about to do, and the damage it could inflict on the unsuspecting naval officers. At the end of the day, in the war between man-and-mechanical beast, humans still rule the day, as nothing beats the indomitable spirit of man to do what he has to do to conquer every obstacle and go against all odds to emerge the victor.  There were many scary parts when the aliens come crashing through the waves  chasing after human, leaving path of destruction in the air, land and sea, when this intelligent armoured Alien monster stalked its human prey, but got outsmarted in the end in this prolonged David and Goliath battle.  Besides the humor, the  bonus for movie audiences is they get to see singer Rihanna on the big screen  as a trigger happy female soldier, who saved the day with her quick response. Entertaining, but was surprised to see toy company Hasbro as one of the producers in the opening credit. Incidentally the movie Titanic 3D, another must watch ship movie is also showing at the same time, thus having two ships created 16 years apart,  battle it out on the silver screen for box office success.
